Karen Marquez

Karen Marquez is an Educational Assistant and Administrative Assistant, originally from El Paso, TX, and raised along the Mexico–Texas border. About ten years ago, she made the move to Albuquerque, and it’s been home ever since. She has earned an associate’s degree in Film and has had the chance to work on a couple of film projects — storytelling and visual creativity are big passions. Now, continuing her journey at the University of New Mexico, where Karen is majoring in Spanish Education with a minor in Math. She's a proud member of the Ed Fellows Program, which supports aspiring educators.

Outside of work and school, Karen is all about adventure — loving to travel, catch a good game (huge sports fan here!), and spend time stargazing or trying out a new food spot in town. She's married to a beautiful princess, and share their home with the sweetest pup ever, Cookie. Green is her favorite color — probably because it reminds her of growth, nature, and all the wild roads still left to explore.
