Bernalillo County's Growing the Growers program is looking for a new crop of interns who will grow healthy food, learn how to manage crops and irrigation and possibly even a small business. On January 10,2017, 12 students from Roma campus visited the Gutierrez-Hubble House in the South Valley to learn all about the program. Hubble House caretaker Mick Gorospe took the group on a tour of the five-acre property, last year's interns gave a full rundown of the program followed by lunch in a 160 year old dining room and a tour of the beautifully restored adobe home. And if anyone wants to grow blackberries, Mick Gorospe says to stop by and get some black berry roots he's giving away.
