Andrea began her educational career in 1994.  She has worked in a variety of educational settings in several states, and has taught at the high school, middle school, and elementary level, in addition to working as a school counselor.  Andrea holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a Master of Arts degree in Human Behavior, and a Master of Arts degree in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling.  She is currently a Reading and Special Education teacher at Gordon Bernell Charter School, located in the Metropolitan Detention Center.  She comes to work every day feeling blessed to be involved in the empowering and life-transforming work that we do with our students.  Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and cats, reading, photography, scrapbooking, art, writing, and world travel.
