Description: The Downtown Campus is the hub of our school. Students at this campus are a mix of transfers from our other campus and additional students from the community who have chosen to take advantage of our unique program with its self-paced curriculum, flexible hours, and adult learning community. Recognizing that academic success relies on many factors beyond the classroom, we have hired a job counselor, a social worker, and a part-time nurse to assist students with the realities of day-to-day living. In addition, our students are each assigned a teacher advisor, who acts as their personal advocate and primary support at GBCS. Greeting you from the front desk as you walk in is Griselda Chairez, one of our graduates from the 2008-09 school year, who impressed us so much as a student that we decided to add her to our staff! The Downtowm Campus is located in the same building as many other important community resources, making it a convenient location for our students to attend. |
